Voters in Cerritos have elected the first ever Filipino-American to their city council with the overwhelming victory of Mark Pulido.  The third time was the charm for the popular home grown Pulido who ran away with top vote in a field of seven candidates.

Also winning reelection were incumbents Bruce Barrows, and Joseph Cho.  Former Cerritos Mayor Grace Hu failed in her attempt to get back onto city council, she finished in fourth place.  Chris Fuentes trailed behind Hu, and newcomers Kiran Rami and Harshad Mody rounded out the rest of the field.

Mark Pulido            4,550 votes
Bruce Barrows        4,170 votes
Joseph Cho             3,947 votes
Grace Hu                3,609 votes
Chris Fuentes          1,246 votes
Karin Rami                952 votes
Harshad Mody          317 votes
