What the heck went down in Montebello today?

It always amazes me just how fast a news item like this can "go viral" on You Tube within minutes of it being posted.
Here are some of the horrific details:
A man is dead after he was suspected of kidnapping a 3-year-old child...possibly his own child....in Montebello this afternoon. His name has not been officially released....
....suspect leads law enforcement on one of those "vintage" high speed pursuits all over LA this afternoon....
Chase ends in front of the male suspect's apartment "possible" residence near Greenwood Avenue and Oakwood Street...
Everyone from the apartment complex is alerted about the "chase" in advance. Instead of ducking for cover...neighbors grab their handy cams and video devices....and soon become witnesses to the death of a man they may or may not know....
Video of shooting is uploaded to You Tube, and tonight an investigation is underway.
