Image via WikipediaLOS ANGELES – A misdemeanor domestic violence charge was filed today against actor-director Mel Gibson in connection with an incident last year involving his former girlfriend, the mother of his infant daughter.Gibson, 55, was charged with one count spousal battery (Section 243(e)(1), in connection with the incident on Jan. 6, 2010, at his home in Malibu.
The case was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Airport Branch shortly before noon. A hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Department E.
Deputy District Attorney Simone Shay is prosecuting the case.
