Cerritos, CA
The political hits just keep on coming.
Just went to my front door and found the THREE door hangers. One on behalf of candidate Mark Pulido, one on behalf of former Mayor Grace Hu and a third one attacking Hu and her past business dealings.
Hu is a former two term member of the Cerritos City Council, and is fighting hard for a "political comeback" in tomorrow's hotly contested Cerritos City Council election. Three seats are up for grabs.
This election has already seen as many as 6,3000 early voters casting ballots by mail.
Running are challengers Pulido, Hu, Chris Fuentes, Harshad Mody, and Karin Rami. Incumbents Bruce Barrows and Joseph Cho are also running for reelection.
In the latest attack on Hu, voters are urged to "Say No To Grace Hu."
"After completing her term on the Cerritos City Council, Grace Hu was indicted by the California Department of Corporations on a conflict of interest charge. Grace, while a councilwoman, had used her escrow company to personally profit from her vote on a senior housing project, and subsequently ran several of those escrows through her own escrow company and purposely attempted to hide that fact."
"To avoid prosecution, she agreed to a "plea deal" that resulted in her paying a $40,000 fine and having to give up her escrow business."
No one is "taking credit" for this door hanger, but it is very similar to an ad that appeared in last Friday's Los Cerritos Community News. (See my past blog posting below).
Anyway.
We have 30 hours and counting till this campaign is FINALLY OVER.
How many more "hit pieces" can ONE ELECTION produce?
Voters beware. We still have ONE more mail delivery before the polls close on Tuesday.
Did you get the Hu Hit? Hit my comment section and SOUND OFF!
Who are you voting for? Do these type of last minute attacks work?
Remember to vote tomorrow. Period.
