Glenn L. Allen, a beloved veteran of the Los Angeles City Fire Department has tragically died from injuries he suffered fighting a Hollywood Hills house fire that broke out early Thursday morning.


Allen, who had spent almost 40 years as a Member of the LAFD fell through the roof of the home that was engulfed in flames.

A press conference will be held at 4 p.m. today (in around a half hour) at 108 N Fremont Ave, Fire Station 3, in LA.

In a statement just issued:


"The men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department thank you for your kind words and sentiment at this time of overwhelming sorrow and immense loss. The Allen Family and the Los Angeles Fire Department has received a tremendous outpouring of support during this difficult time. Your Firefighters wish to thank you and express our deepest appreciation for all the kind words and gestures that have been provided."
