I am really beginning to wonder about the "state of mind" within the "criminal element" of our local community.
Two men are at large in Long Beach after they walked into a local convenience store over on 4th Street in Long Beach on Saturday early evening and literally executed a popular store owner.
The killers didn't get away with anything. No money taken. No liquor taken. It was a "botched" robbery gone wrong according to members of the Homicide department at the Long Beach Police Department.
Sor Phouam was a well known and well loved community business leader in Long Beach who died after being shot inside his local "mom and pop" store. People are remembering him for his love of children, for being compassionate for his neighbors and his lending a helping hand to anyone who may have been "down on their luck."
Long Beach police officers responded to his business on the 1900-block of East 4th Street regarding a call of shots fired. When LBPD officers arrived, they discovered that Phouam had been shot and two men were seen fleeing from the store without getting away with any cash or merchandise.
Phouam, a 53-year-old resident of Long Beach died at a local hospital after the incident that took place right after 8 p.m. on Saturday night.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects entered the business with the intent to commit a robbery. So, we (the community) have to help bring these two killers to justice.

- Wearing dark clothing
- Weapon used was an unknown type of handgun.
