6.8 EARTHQUAKE HITS NORTHERN MYANMAR, Praying for my friend Martin's family and friends!

Update from the Associated Press at 8:30 a.m. PST

The quakes struck along Myanmar's borders with Thailand and Laos, about 70 miles from the northern Thai city of Chiang Rai. The northern Thai city sustained a little damage, according to Thai television. The 6.8-magnitude quake was just six miles (10 kilometers) deep, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There are no immediate reports of injuries.

Myanmar

A large 6.8 earthquake has hit in the northern part of Myanmar and it was felt as far away at Thailand.

My "adopted brother" Martin, is from Myanmar, and I am praying for his friends and family who live in Yangoon. His uncle, Fr. Francis is a Catholic Priest and lives in this Northern portion of Myanmar that has been hit with the quake.

Martin in a graduate student in the Masters Program here at Long Beach State University.
