Hacienda Heights, CA

I just got a note from a friend of mine to "Pray for everyone at St. Vianney Catholic Church" that is located in Hacienda Heights.

I had to do a double and triple take. What happened? Arson fire? What? Destroyed the entire main part of the church?  How can this happen in the tight knit community of Hacienda Heights?  Who would do such a thing?

Then I received another note from a friend of mine, who is a member of St. Vianney about the ordeal:

"Drove by St. John Vianney's....It looks like a bomb fell on it...Really tragic..many people there to see...The masses will be held in the Callaghan Center...according to the sign..." my friend Kathleen posted on her Face book page tonight.

"This is our Catholic community's church since 1967..I was married there and my kids were baptized and did confirmation there...." my friend posted later this afternoon.

The fire is under investigation, but according to news reports, it appears that the fire could be arson related.

Tonight, they held Saturday night Mass at the Church in a hall not involved in the blaze.  The Priest reminded everyone in the community that a "Church is more than a building, it is about People." Amen to that, Father!

Mass Schedule updates are going to be posted on the churches website.
